Schedules and Letting Go

Posted on May 2, 2013 by shamballavero

Last night I let go of responsibilities to focus on what is really important. I am so conscious of deadlines and being on time and in regards to my son, going to bed on time, getting homework done, eating a balanced meal. I love schedules and routines and doing everything “in a timely manner”.
But yesterday, I was forced to let all that go. At least for the evening. My sister is visiting from Japan this week and we has plans for her and my mother to come to our home for dinner.
Keep in mind, my 6 year old is usually eating dinner by 5:30 at the latest and in bed reading books by 7:45. Especially on school nights. Of course, I am the only person who is concerned about this and they show up for dinner at 6 pm. I decide not to panic, knowing my son needs this time with his aunt. We go out to dinner, not even eating til 7:30. Then, at about 8:45, an hour past his bedtime, we decide to go down to the beach.
I couldn’t be more grateful for this blissed out experience. Watching him run around in the sand as fast as he could go giggling and yelling was the most perfect moment I could have asked for. Seeing how free he felt, how joyful, how it seemed that nothing else existed or mattered connected me to spirit instantly. I can only imagine, whether he was aware of it or not, how perfectly connected he must have been in that moment.
We all have those moments of clarity and bliss and perfection that we want to hold on to forever and this is one of mine. Seeing how precious he was, how unhindered, all I could see was a perfect reflection of spirit in this little boy.
Nothing else mattered then. Not the deadlines or the bedtimes or the responsibilities of tomorrow. What I learned was that spirit doesn’t exist in our schedules and timelines. Spirit doesn’t exist in what we “need” to do. And if we hold on too tightly to those earthly expectations we miss those opportunities to see how glorious spirit is. Because we find spirit when we get away from ourselves. We find spirit when we let go of our demands. I’m not asking that you abandon your responsibilities but that you don’t hold so tightly to them. Schedules matter far less than discovering the joy and beauty those tiny moments have to offer. I will always carry the memory of my 6 year old running his heart out on the beach as if he was flying. I won’t remember a day at home paying attention to schedules and bedtimes.
So whatever it is you’re worried about being late for, or not finishing in time, go ahead and be late. Experience nature instead.

Spring Thoughts from Denie-Shae

Rise and Shine

As winter retreats and spring awakens I see the world regenerating;
rebirthing. The birds have returned to my porch once again to build
their homesand start their families. It is a comfort to hear them as
dawn breaks each morning. As I meditate on why these birds bring me so
much comfort, I am reminded that it is because they are signs ofrebirth, love, and joy. They are my signal that spring has comeand the world is new again. I sense a shift in energy as life is sprouting, stretching from winters sleep. I feel this same shift is happening for me and so many others on this beautiful planet.

With the re-emergence of spring and the big shift, I have really looked inward. Seeing things I had yet to discover, aswell as uncovering things that I had chosen to forget. I have begun to
understand the importance of my time on this Earth. I believe Iam here to learn some very important lessons; soul school as I liketo say- it pleases my studious analytical brain.

Over the last year and a half Iattended many seminars, classes, and fairs at the School of Multidimensional Healing Arts & Sciences.I found myself drawn so strongly, like a moth to the light. I hadnever been in an environment with a vibration that high and so many beautifully gifted souls. I could feel the love and respect everyone
had for one another. For the first time in my life I found myself not
only allowing but desiring the comfort and support that the school brought. I chose to surrender parts of myself over to the higher good, while still working on others, as we all are.

2012 was a challenge for me, a ninth year. In numerology a ninth year
represents Wisdom and Detachment. The ninth year is a year ofcompletion, of letting go, of quiet reflection; a time of looking back and to understand this too shall pass. Winter’s presence brought a period of inner silence and stillness, waiting for the light tocome again.

After two large career changes and still not feeling satisfied I found
myself feeling lost, unsure of the path in front of me. I have always
been a do-er, mostly for other people. So much of myworth was based upon what I could do to help the ones I loved, instead of justloving them. If the outcome was not what I expected or wanted, Ialways felt I could have done more. At the end of my ninth year, which Ifelt very much, my energy was completely depleted. The juggling act oftrying to care for those in my life had become to much.

I sought relief from an incredible man, Dr. Stephen Ward. I first
found myself at Ward Chiropractic in Long Beach the spring of 2012,
after a friend referred me. She said he had an interesting method; he wasn’t a typical chiropractor. On my first visit I was greetedby a tall, handsomely bald man with a wide grin. I was then engulfedin a hug and I heard the words “Hey Beautiful! How ya doing today?” Iremember in this moment feeling so safe and loved that I heard myself
answer back “I am great!” This was unlike any doctor I have ever met.
Being around him, I felt my vibration rise, just like the when at the School.

Dr. Steve brought me into his front office and I knew the moments to follow would be mind-opening. I was introduced to the Spinal Stressology method he had continued to develop, inherited from his late father, Dr. Lowell Ward. Dr. Ward considers the cranium, spinal
column and pelvis as a single intact unit. A system analysis consists
of standing and seated front-view and side-view full spine x-rays.
With these X-rays he can scientifically measure abnormal stress, which is often the causes of our physical and emotional disease. Afterdetermining an individual’s pain pattern, i.e. gender cancers, back/joint pain, chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis, and a host ofbehavioral diseases, he will prescribe the best course of treatment.

At the end of 2012, I found myself exhausted and physically worn down; I knew what I needed. I went two times a week for four weeks. Most of the sessions involved personal coaching and daily listening toa custom CD he made for me to aide in processing my unhealthy patterns. I have shiftedand am feeling better every day. It is hard to say what makes themost impact- the physical adjustment or the emotional adjustment. Dr.Steve’s intuitive ability to tie the mind-body-soul connection to the spine is something that inspired me. I made some muchneeded changes in my life that without him would have taken me yearsto accomplish, if ever.

I give thanks to the School and Dr. Steve for keeping me afloat when
I felt unable to breath. The love and support is intoxicating and truly good for the soul. As spring arrives I feel refreshed; alive again to experience the sweet fruits the Earth produces. I hear the birds as I now write. I see them bathing is the sun, soaking and enjoying the beautiful sunny day. They are a reminder that even when life seems dark, the darkness too shall pass, andwe shall welcome the light that comes again.

Much thanks to SMHAS and Dr. Stephen Ward.

Some Easter Thoughts

Saturday, March 30th, 2013 by davidp

The Glory of Easter…and our own becoming.

Even if Easter is a religious holiday and you are not a religious person, the invitation of Easter is to look at your own path of self-healing, dying off of what don’t serve you and the opening up to the rebirthing of what you are becoming.

If you allow Easter to be the metaphor of a deeper authentic life and spiritual awakening you can then use this holiday as in inspiration for inner inquiry to your own life.

All religions at it’s core try to point us to a Universal Truth and Expanded Awareness of our own Embodiment of Our Divine Self.

My teacher Ronda LaRue www.centerforsoularts.com have this beautiful passage to share:

Palm Sunday as Metaphor: Riding an ass into a crowd of love and hate (the inner war of duality)
… Some questions you let roll around in your head and heart as you play with metaphor and meaning:
• “Am I riding the ass …or is the ass riding me in my life? (Ass is in case = the instinctive or conditioned beast aspect of the human mind.)
• A few following questions to contemplate this week could include these: “Who is reining the conditioned impulse parts of me? Do I have a centered authority …or do my thoughts and feelings run – willy-nilly – leading my experience of life according to each impulse or conditioned response it comes its way?”
• Another way of entering Palm Sunday as Metaphor for inner self questioning could be asking one or more of these questions of yourself: “By what authority is my life being lived right now? i.e., What am I making my God, by way of my values? What am I feeding in my life: love or fear? What am I RIDING my life upon? …How and where do I set up bi-polar opposites (i.e. inner confusion or split directions)… And how is this fragmenting, polarizing and paralyzing me between fear and Love?”

Pontius Pilate, Judgement, and the fear of Love expressed by the mob
…In this case, let Pilate and the mob = your inner critic, your egoic mind, your projections and stories and feel like justifiable beliefs…
• You might begin by asking yourself: “Where and in what ways, do I allow myself or others to judge, ridicule, and kill my own goodness?
• What ways do I excuse or rationalize things that I know no no longer serve me?
• Where and how do I take “the safe road”, point at others as the problem, and stick (like glue) to justifiable reasons why I can’t do what my heart longs for?

The Last Supper in the Garden of Gethsemane
• “How are ways that I betray my heart’s wisdom?
• What do I use or do as distractions to stay in denial, distracted, and disconnected from my heart or “asleep” spiritually
• Where are my intentions good, but my “spiritual muscle” to remain present, week?
• What are “all my good” rational excuses for not being able to enter into this quest right now ( i.e. how familiar are you with these reasons, and how do they negate what you say you want in your life?)
• What, in your heart of hearts, longs for comfort (and is asking you to stay beside, pray and keep awake with it)?

A Jewish Rabbi Christed on the Cross –
…In this case Christ on the cross = you remembering who you really are i.e. reckoning and reconnecting with the center of Self – where the human you and the spiritual you come to meet as One – by dying to what is finished, and opening to what is unknowable – in the act of surrendering to Love over fear and the natural renewal of an evolving creation.
• What is a cross that I carry with me today? i.e. What are some areas where I feel I am victim and powerless to change or control?
• Can I see more clearly places where I act and react from a belief of powerlessness … and is it powerlessness – really – or is it actually fear of what I might lose if I dared to change?
• What am I willing to sacrifice in order to remain true to my heart’s deepest longing? (Look honestly and “eyes wide open” at this question!)
• What is my life willing and called to stand up for? What will I not compromised? What is the character by which my heart remains true?
• …Why have I forsaken in my True Self? … And where do I need to seek forgiveness?
• What in my life is ready to die? What needs to be laid down so that my heart can live? ..i.e., What inner belief, attitude, excuse, or stance am I ready to lay down, put down, stop carrying around?
• What am I longing for more than anything right now? (Don’t stop at the first answer…. peel this question down to the root… Until: “IT IS FINISHED”

The Resurrection:
…The metaphor here is pointing toward a conscious movement of inner alchemy and life transformation that, quite naturally, enfolds from consciously living — i.e, from going about your daily life while observing in honoring questions like those post above. To invoke or except your renewal and your life’s resurrection though, you must receive it. How will you receive it? Here are some questions to lead to your own receiving:
• “How might I honor – symbolically, and as a direct conscious action– that which it is time for me to lay down? — i.e. What can you offer, do, or personally engage in, during Easter weekend that will symbolically represent the ending-death of some belief or habit or situation, so what is new and waiting in your life can reveal itself and be more wholly lived?
• How available will you be to the creative renewing unknown evolution of life? And how will you stay open to life so it can resurrect (usher) you into your true genius?

“THE EASE OF RELEASE AND THE GRACE OF BALANCE.”

Sunday, March 10th, 2013 by davidp

The title has two parts that complement each other in so many ways – ease and grace are two desirable words to live by. On the other hand release and balance are two important personal development words. So when you put them all together it creates a powerhouse of positivity that projects infinite possibilities into reality.
The word release has two appropriate definitions:
[1] –‘to stop gripping or holding on to something’.
[2] – ‘to let something out that has been contained or confined within something’.
The ease of release is the desired result here – that ease is what supports the mind, body and spirit to sustain health especially concerning unhealthy creative thoughts, convictions and beliefs that are becoming rancid and musty being long past their due date, sell by date and expiration date!!
In order to move onto your next best life – your new desired experience or your vision dream for 2013, there may be some beliefs that you have to respectfully get rid of. If you want to know where these kinds of thoughts might be hiding, just start thinking about a mistake you’ve made recently and how you may be still mentally beating yourself up about it. Or, just think about the name of someone who pushes your buttons, clouds your day or just brings you down, and then take the time to notice the feelings or thoughts that arise. Right there in the middle of those muddled feelings is where the work has to be done – that inner work is the key to the success you desire and envision. Just face that old ‘stinkin’ thinkin’ like a lion tamer and release it…. Folks the more you do it the easier it becomes and eventually you reach the place of ease of release.
The second part of the phrase is the grace of balance. Balance is defined as; ‘harmony or a state in which various parts form a satisfying and harmonious whole and nothing is out of proportion or unduly emphasized at the expense of the rest’. We each have to define what balance is in our own lives and then set out to live up to our choices and beliefs about that balance as we actively create and promote the balance desired!! The grace [as in the grace of balance] is developed through repeated practice, reduced fear from successful results and an unshakeable willingness to change consciousness – not people, places or things.

Excellence Embraced

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013 by davidp

“Embracing Your Excellence”

I want to address the last word there: excellence – too many people run from that word I believe because they attribute it to trying to be perfect – only god or infinite spirit is perfect and yet that perfection is absolutely in our spiritual DNA. How we access it and how we use this perfect creative energy is an inside job!! We are spiritually perfect in our perceived physical, mental and emotional imperfections. Why? Because even though we are made in the image and likeness of that which is perfect [showing up as our spiritual essence], our physical body, our working mind and our daily journeys are far from perfect because most of us get caught up in comparing, categorizing and competing.

The continued use of any of these three ‘c’s will cause a “limited belief” disease.

Comparing yourself to your past [good or bad], comparing your journey to other peoples victories or defeats – or comparing yourself to what others expect from you is an invite to pain in perpetuity.

Categorizing yourself or others in boxes of past prejudices and labels absolutely robs you of connecting with the spiritual essence calling forth to teach you more about how awesome life is and how the people in your life are your mirrors and teachers.

Competing for the sake of self worth, unbalanced purpose and desperation is the most damaging of the ‘disease of the three c’s’. The win at all cost, crush before getting crushed, eliminate the opposition mindsets are all based in a mindset that houses the results of emptiness, resentment, fear and unfullfillment.

So get busy with a bold sense of purpose and check out how you can access more and more of your spiritually excellent DNA and challenge yourself to make better decisions as you create your dream in 2013!!

Article for SMHAS Blog by Rev. Marcy Cheek,

If you go to the absolute beginning of everything, the “big bang” so-to-speak, it all starts with SOUND! The Bible says, “And God said …. That started everything. So sound is the core of all visible matter. Sound creates vibrations and can be measured. Einstein said that everything in the Universe is a ghostly bundle of energy vibrating in an immense void. As above, so below. Our body is just a collection of vibrational energy. Have you ever wondered how the DNA/RNA makes all of the different things in your body?: How can just 4 letters of DNA know how to make a heart? Or a liver? Or a pancreas? Or bones or muscles? Each of these things has a certain vibration. The dna/rna creates that specific vibration and voila! You have a heart! So if sound created it originally, sound can also alter it If you have inherited from your mother or father a certain weakness in your dna structure, and “diabetes runs in your family” or heart attack or cancer, you can use sound to alter that vibration you inherited and create a new vibration that only operates perfectly according to the Divine Blueprint for your body. My 528 hrtz tuning fork can alter DNA according to your intention.

It is now time to get busy and remove all blockages in our life and our physical body so we can begin to be happy and healthy. Everyone has a specific gift or talent that is now needed by our earth. In order for your gift or talent to be recognized and even further, begin to operate, you will need to get a tune-up! Even as an orchestra tunes up so all the instruments can play together in the same key, so your body can be tuned up so that all of its parts can work harmoniously and in concert.

I have a tuning fork that is called UT. It is 396 hrtz. This is a sound that was originally in the six primordinal sounds that created the Universe. However, early in Church history, the leaders decided to eliminate this sound from all music because this sound combined together with the other five elemental sounds elevates the soul and allows a person to operate in higher dimensions with all knowing, all seeing, all hearing and all feeling – in other words, to be connected with all there is and function as Jesus and other seers, prophets and the wise men of all the ages have functioned. The Church did not want the people to have these powers of individuality and personal expression. Today, all sound is void of the UT note. They took the UT out! Just hearing this one sound will transform your life! Your spirit, soul and body hungers for this sound. Most of all addictions today can be eliminated if a person regularly sounds this tone for themselves.
Also sounding G & C together spikes nitrous oxide and creates serotonin. Just sound your tuning forks and you won’t need XANAX!!

Beyond Valentine’s Day

Sunday, February 17th, 2013 by davidp

Very Valuable Vibrations
[Carrying the Love vibration past Valentine’s Day.]

The word vibration is defined as: A feeling communicated from one person to another.

So there are two distinct ways we vibrate our feelings to one another on a daily basis, and they are verbal or non-verbal… by words or thoughts and feelings:
The words we put forth by choice are delivered in sound waves which are in essence… energy that is vibrating as sound. The thoughts we put forth by choice are also vibrations of energy… these non-verbal communications are not bound by skin, bone or body!
Here are two mental tools of awareness based in acronyms for maintaining your 2013 dream mindset vibration. You’ve got to Value your Vibe!

V – valiant [strong or powerful]
A – actions
L – liberate
U – utilitarian [highest good for all]
E – energy

V – valid [sound & well grounded]
I – intentions
B – bless
E – everything I do!!

Just the awareness that our very breath is a blessing. Abd the awareness opens the door to a deeper realization that the vibration of our attitudes, the vibration of our beliefs and the vibe of our proclivities – do indeed move out from us either as a polluting vibe or as a promoting vibe. [Remind yourself to promote it don’t pollute it!]…and whatever vibe you project will have your name & spiritual address all over it.
So grow forward this week being ‘vibe conscious’ and continue to find ways and means to commit random acts of kindness in the name and nature of Spiritual Love!!!

Valentine Optimism

Monday, February 11th, 2013 by davidp

Valentine Optimism

Just for a thought for your consideration and awareness about this whole Valentine’s Day thing.

This can be a very depressing week if you are not in a romantic relationship or wish you were in one, or in a relationship and wish you weren’t, or felling the seasonal pressure to prove that you still deserve to belong in one – either way there’s hope for you and it begins with your willingness to decide to create a mindset of optimism.

First create an intention to find more and more things to appreciate about the position that you are currently experiencing. Then work on developing an optimistic attitude based upon those blessings – because you are always at choice and you do deserve the best {just in case you forgot}.  Finally take the time to create a personal statement of what you really want – and memorize it!! This is how you can make a slight enough adjustment to start a whole new life – starting this Valentine’s week!!

Optimism is defined as: the belief that things are continually getting better and that good will ultimately triumph over all. It makes sense to be kind in developing a consciousness of optimism – especially if, in the past, for survival you chose to mask your good natured heart with aggression, mistrust, fear and resentment.

K – Knowledge – of the power of love

I – Intelligence – to act from love

N – Nurturing – love others right where they are

D – Divine Decisions – flavor your intentions with spiritual spices

So happy Valentine’s day – and remember that this is also Random Acts of Kindness week – what better incentive can you have to do the inner work to operate on optimism every day this week. Find ways and means to randomly perform acts of loving kindness everywhere you go – are you willing?

Is Karma a bad word?

Sunday, February 3rd, 2013 by davidp

When we experience tough times in our lives, many people refer to that as “bad karma.”  If the good times are attributed to “good karma,” then what does the word karma mean all by itself?  Most pundits who believe karma is a universal law describe it in two ways.  One is by quoting the Bible where it says we shall reap what we sow.  The other cliché is more scientific in nature by pointing out that every action has a reaction.  Both definitions allow for karma to be good or bad depending on what choices we’ve made in the past.

Those two clichés seemingly define karma as a reward/punishment system designed by God to compel us to live as our Father requires.  Failure to do so will result in punishment and suffering until we finally relent and quit opposing God’s will.  But does that system seem consistent with what our Creator of unconditional love and infinite patience had in mind for His children?  If not, then perhaps there is a better way to define what karma actually means.

It is said that karma is a universal law, as consistent as the law of gravity.  Like karma, gravity can enhance or bring suffering into our lives.  We rarely think of how grateful we are that gravity keeps our planet alive and well and moving like a well-oiled machine.  However, if we jump off a building, it would be difficult to ignore the consequences of not working with gravity to our greatest benefit.  It is easy to see that gravity was not designed by God to reward or punish us, but it certainly can work to teach us how to live in harmony with it.

Understanding that gravity is a universal law with a much greater purpose than to make us suffer brings some clarity to the purpose behind the law of karma.  Karma was not designed to make us suffer, but rather to bring balance to our thoughts and actions.  We might take it very personally when we reap the selfishness we have sown in the past, but karma acts without malice or even anger to ensure we all experience the thoughts and feelings we’ve previously “sown” in God’s universe.

The implication here is that karma doesn’t decide whether it’s good or bad; we do.  God does not interfere with our free will so we can choose against His loving ways for as long as we want.  But the Bible also says that with every temptation God has already provided a way of escape.  The first step toward relieving our suffering is to know what we’re doing that caused us to suffer in the first place.  Speaking harshly to others, treating them unfairly or making choices that are not in everyone’s best interests are common ways we suffer.  We learn that such things hurt when we karmicly receive them though we likely ignored their effects on others when we made those same selfish choices in the past.

So the choice of how we live our lives is always up to us.  If we make selfish choices, we experience suffering; for that is how the universal law of karma works to balance the universe.  Karma automatically and without condemnation ensures that we reap what we have sown.  We then decide if any suffering we encounter becomes an instructive experience.

If we continue to make selfish choices, karma continues to bring balance and we continue to suffer.  However, the moment we decide to end the suffering of all involved in this vicious cycle, our own suffering ends as we begin to reap the results of making loving, win/win choices in our lives.

If we want to be happier, the answers to help us enjoy a better life are not hidden.  If we want good friends, we must be friendly rather than combative.  If we desire love, we must be loving toward others.  If we desire that others be patient and show us compassion, then we too must become the change we seek in them.  Just as pains in the body focus our attention on what areas need immediate healing, the mind works in a similar way with fear and the things that make us suffer.
