They Call it Mellow Yellow

Yellow is a bright cheery color that mimics the color the sun. In homes, it can brighten a room that lacks natural sunlight and add a very comfortable level of the fire element to any area. From “hot” yellow to pale yellow, there are numerous shades that will work well for feng shui balance.

Yellow can add a cheerful tone to a child’s room or create a warm, cozy and inviting environment for a family room. It is believed that the color yellow can enhance overall well-being and even improve self-esteem.

In keeping with tradition, bright yellow would best be used in the east (Healthy & Family Area ) and southeast ( Wealth Area ) areas of your home.

Ways to incorporate more yellow into your decor include:

Flowers: Try bright and cheery yellow flowers. They can be sunflowers, calendula, black-eyed susans or anything else. Colorful flowers are a wonderful way to bring life to a space – literally and figuratively!

Yellow art: Having art with yellow in it, or even lampshades or other knick-knacks is a great way to bring warmth to a room.

Yellow curtains: Work especially nicely for those who need a little cheering up in the mornings because the yellow curtains they will add a calming and cheerful hue to the natural day light.

Yellow accessories: Consider pillows for your sofa, they are a great way to bring yellow in without feeling overwhelmed by the color.
