Would you like to have the keys to longevity, vitality and optimal health? The art of Qigong is over 5000 years old and has its roots in ancient China. This introduction to Chinese energy cultivation will cover the historical roots of qigong, its medical, martial and spiritual applications and the many health and fitness benefits derived from its practice.

 

 

The word Qigong actually consists of two words: Qi is the Chinese word meaning "life force or vital energy of all things flowing through the universe"; and gong means "accomplishment, skill or technique that is achieved through disciplined practice over time". One way to view Qigong is that it is "the philosophy and practice of combining breath, bodily movement and focused intention to promote spiritual, mental and physical health, including the achievement of self-actualization."


A growing body of research from the east and west has shown that Qigong reduces stress, lowers hypertension, builds stamina, increases vitality and enhances the immune system.
